Directions:  Go to http://www.lissaexplains.com/basics.shtml - a web site 
tutorial page and answer the following questions right on this page.  Save 
your answers on the cloud under any name you like.

1.   Interview the students of this class:

   a.	List all the different browsers they use below this question: 

   b.	Figure out what percentage of the student use each one and list 
        the percentages next to each browser name above.

   c.	Find statistics on line for the popularity of browsers and type 
        in those stats below this question. 

   d.	Find, download and install one you have never tried out before 
        and look at Lissa?s  site and WCS? site using it.  Tell me what you 
        think.  Show it to me if I am not helping another student at the 
        time.

2.   Sites:
   a.	Look at the web hosting sites Lissa suggests.  Which looks 
        the best to you?

   b.	Find five other free hosting sites on line and list them below 
        this question.

   c.	Sign up for one of the sites and list your URL on the URL list 
        sheet.  The best ones give you lots of space, fewer ads and have
	FTP ability.  (Choose carefully.)

3.   Write metatags for this question set as though you were going to 
     make it into a website.  Put them right below this question.

4.   What can you do to make your website load quickly?

5.   Read Lissa?s safty and her dos and don?ts.

   a.	Have you ever broken any of her rules?  Explain.

   b.	List Lissa?s do?s and don?ts then get with a partner and  grade 
        http:www.wcsmiami.org next to each one.  (You will need to list 
        your grades separately.)

6.   What are CPM and CPC?

7.   How can you accept donations on your page?

8.   What is spyware?

9.   What is a firewall?

10.  What virus protection do you use?  Is it better than Kaspersky?

Directions:  Go to the top and click HTML on the navigation bar.  Read the 
first page entitled, "What do I do first?" then click the word "here", at 
the end of the first paragraph to learn how to use a program named notepad.   

1.   Read all about making web pages using notepad.

2.   Type the HTML tags into this document so this entire document 
     becomes the body of the page.

3.   For more credit, put a <br> at the end of each line and create a header.
     The better it looks when you finish the more credit you will receive.
     (The <br> command goes to the next line

4.	Put the words ?Assignment 1? in the title section.
5.	Save this file 

   a.	Click File then click Save As.

   b.	Change the type of file to all files *.* 

   c.	Type ?h:index.html? as the name

6.   Go to My Computer on the desktop and click h:.  Then double click the 
     file named index.  Your questions should come up.

7.   Fix any problems.  Put in any extras.

8.   Upload h:index.html to the new web host you signed up for.

9.   Show the final result to the instructor for grading
