Electronic Testing

Students are tested using a proprietary learning accelerator named Masteryİ.  They learn all the declarative information required in the course during the test itself through changing colors, sounds, and generated speech.  Students are allowed to take the test as many times as they wish.  Their grade is recorded only when they ask for it to be recorded.  "Placeholder Fs" are recorded in the grade book so grades visible to parents are an accurate representation of student performance.  These placeholders are replaced by earned grades as students make up the work that is late.

All late tests and assignments are accepted without deduction.  We accept all late work so students learn resilience, one of the most difficult and important skills for students to master during their educational career.  The fight for excellence only ends when they give up or grades are posted at the end of the marking period.  The decision to give up and take a low grade is the one they should be held accountable for.  That means any student willing to put in the time will make straight As and master the declarative information from the text.

Because Mastery is a learning accelerator, very few students need more time than that given in class.  They, as a rule, learn all the material without homework and retain the material at about an 80% level after six months.  Additionally, a study showed that after learning with Mastery students are able to memorize information more quickly in all their classes and enjoy 2/3 of a letter grade higher GPA in all their courses.
